The passion that overcomes ones soul can be passed from one generation to another, creating a bond that stands the tests of time. As with the Villanueva family this bond extends from father to son in bringing one 1939 Chevrolet Sedan a new life in vintage Old School style.
The Villanueva family found this vintage 1939 Chevrolet Sedan in Superior, Arizona 1996 and purchased the car for nine-hundred dollars. After sitting for several years it was time to start a long time project. In 2003 the car was hauled to Lynwood, California where for the next three years this 39’ Sedan would be restored with a vintage style.
Looking to preserve a piece of history the modifications remain subtle but give this vintage Chevrolet a one-of-a-kind look. The chassis remains stock boasting its original frame, suspension set-up and drum brakes. The body remains a 39’ but was given a little style of it’s own featureing the front end from a 48’ sedan. The classic silver and black paint is accented with several nostalgic parts from “STOP” tail lights to Felix the Cat who leaves you looking at the history that surround the car. Under the graceful curved fenders sit 6.70x15 white wall coker tires wrapped around black classic steel wheels fitted with a genuine chevrolet center cap. Looking under the hood is like taking a step back in time as a 1954 235 was rebuilt and converted over to a 12-volt eletrical system and split maniflod that leads to the dual exhaust set-up. The original 1939 three- speed transmisson is used to transfer the power produced by the 235 to the rear wheels. Inside this old school sedan the original guages fill the vintage wood grain finished dash. Keeping the rest of the interior clean and simple Discount Custom Uphulstery finished the interior in subtle shades of silver.
With the completion of this vintage 39’ Chevrolet it is dedicated to Tata (Dad) Tony Villanueva Sr.
